Let me begin with a welcome and an introduction.
If you haven’t already read my “About Us” portion of the blog, go ahead and do so, or don’t. It’s up to you.
My name is Kristy (Your neighborhood AuDHD chaos coordinator) and welcome to my chaotic life as I begin this journey of urban homesteading chaos. I mean it, it will be chaotic.
Living in a suburban, urban, more industrial looking area of town, I don’t exactly have a yard, and the little I do have is for the dogs (and the mango tree). So where do I grow food? Good question! In small greenhouses, raised planters, pots, and such around the side of the house. It’s not ideal but it works.
Anyway, the chaos part is more the fact that my life is crazy. I mean, life for most is pretty crazy in general. Trying to make a home while working full time and taking care of children (yes, the pups), while also battling disabilities, physically and mentally. That’s pretty chaotic if I do say so myself.
Add in the fact that I have so many hobbies and interests, this won’t be your ideal cookie-cutter cozy cottagecore homestead. Nope, it’s going to be messy. I’ll probably forget to do a lot, from eating my leftovers to feeding the sour dough starter to watering the plants. Yeah, that’s what happens when you have full blown ADHD and rarely have the meds to help (blame the lack of production and pharmacies not having a steady supply).
What you can expect from me, besides chaos:
- Growing (or trying to) produce
- Crocheting
- Sewing
- Baking
- Dogs….lots of dogs
- DIY Projects
- Crafts
- Recipes
I’ll try to be all cottagecore, but we all know that’s not really going to happen. Life usually has other plans than what we decide, and themes don’t usually stay a reality, unless you have a lot of money, help, and an entire production crew behind you…. I don’t, but we can definitely try. It’ll be cottagecore with a twist! *wink*
